Disruptive Behavior and Non-Academic Misconduct

Modified on Thu, Oct 26, 2023 at 12:42 PM

ProACT Academy strives to maintain a safe and supportive teaching environment for all participants. Disruptive behavior is prohibited in any of our classes. Disruptive behavior is any behavior that ProACT Academy regards as speech or action that is disrespectful, offensive, and/or threatening, interferes with the learning activities of other students, impedes the delivery of instructional services, and/or has a negative impact in any learning environment – including classrooms and aquatic environments.

Disruptive behavior includes physically, verbally, or psychologically harassing, threatening, or acting abusively toward an instructor, staff member, or other students in any activity conducted by ProACT Academy.

ProACT Academy reserves the right to remove any participant who violates this policy. ProACT Academy also reserves the right to withhold any customer from returning should they violate this policy.

In the event a participant violates this policy, disciplinary sanctions may be imposed.

Disciplinary sanctions:

  • A written reprimand placed on the participant's permanent record.
  • Denial of specified academy privileges, including the ability to participate in future courses.
  • Payment of restitution and/or forfeiture of tuition fees.
  • Disciplinary probation and removal from the program/course.
  • Imposition of reasonable terms and conditions on continued student status.
  • Removal from a course in progress.
  • Enrollment restrictions on a course or program.
  • Suspension - unable to take classes with ProACT Critical Care Academy for an established period.
  • Expulsion - unable to take classes with ProACT Critical Care Academy indefinitely.

Sanctions imposed on participants are pursuant to a conference with the participant, instructor, parent/guardian (if applicable), and investigation with a member of the Quality Assurance and Integrity Protections department.
